Whale blown air heater

We have a Whale blown air heating system that works and blows hot air, but during cold nights it is impossible to get the motorhome to a comfortable temperature. After 5 hours of continuous use each night last week the temperature was only just reaching 58f and we both had to sit with three jumpers and a blanket over us to keep warm. We're finding this to be an ineffective heater. Just wondering if anyone else has this problem with a Whale Blown Air heater and also does anyone have any ideas or suggestions? Nothing worse than being cold.

Just been reading a thread on another site and someone suggested fitting a remote temperature sensor. What is this and why would it make the heater hotter?

Just a thought but it maybe a case of your van loosing the heat to fast, do you have any foil screens to cover your windows & can you separate the driving area to the back of your van with a thick curtain etc.

Same problem, we have a curtain across to separate cab, close the overbed curtain (open an hour before bed to warm it up), close all screens, and we found the sky light above kitchen area blows a gale, so worth closing screens on any roof lights as well. We also find it gets warmer without the blown air heating, just using the heater. What floor covering have you got? if its the thin carpet usually supplied, you might find it helps to fit a thick carpet.
