Clean rotten, very hard to weld witout setting the van up in smoke, i have tackeled jobs like that when much younger, these days no mission, id value it at £500 to £700 max.

Similar topic, but totally different I suppose……

But yesterday, in Northampton, I was passed by a beautiful motor home based on a CF Bedford, T reg.
Being left hand drive, it was possibly be an Opel.

That's my old girl got a 2.8 engine in it it sat on a site for 4/5 years in Cornwall then a guy from down that way got it for peanut

Not everyone in the world has tens of thousands of pounds spare to spend on a motorhome. 🤷‍♀️

Odds on you’re dissing an ex-member’s van, quite possibly someone who is no longer with us, perhaps? 🤔

Just sayin’ 🤨

Oops! ….. “reports of your death have been greatly exaggerated!” 🥴🤣🤭

Very true and now we know!!! :D

I hope it gets a good home and it does seem worth it to me. I would love to know what happened to old Hank the Tank. Well I know who bought it and I know it was finally taxed in September but thats about it. I think the new owner had plans to do all sorts to it and take it up the NC500 but thats all I know. Old vans like this have soul and history. They have lived a life and brought many memories for their owners. They deserve a bit of respect.

We loved our old van Barry and when we got rid of it it owed us nothing.

As you know, I'm a posh bloke so you would expect me to have something a bit more grand, but I didn't mind roughing it a bit - after all we were camping. 😐

LOL!

I was surprised I wasn't more upset when old Hank finally went and new Hank arrived. I think it all happened so fast and then we were off there simply wasn't time to get all emotional. Best way. Ill always remember it with fond memories though but I never enjoyed driving it anymore in the later years. I still don't enjoy long trips even in the new van though. Boring. Cant wait to get out on the bike.

Nostalgia is a thing isn’t it.
Like others, I’ve become attached to my van. Demi, is my first camper. Probably will be my last, can’t see me affording another.
I’ve got to be honest. It’s probably the best thing I’ve ever bought. Love that van, I enjoy every trip we ( that’s Demi and me ) do, an every place we travel together. I reckon I spend almost as many days in it, as I do at home. And long may that continue.
Over the years, I’ve spent a fortune on it, nothing is too good for it. Does that make it the mistress I can’t afford? 🙄

I know both the guys that bought my old vans and get the odd photo of their adventures.

Its become a massive part of your life like mine did for 16 years. Of course you are going to be attached to it. However in the case of myself despite that 16 year relationship the inevitable happened and it got dumped for a younger model! What a Cad! :ROFLMAO:

Didn't know you hailed from Peterborough, Rob ... :ROFLMAO:
