wedding invite

as I haven't had many takers in the upcoming events i thought i would put it here.
me and the other half are tying the noose next May 28th.
any and all are invited
we are getting a field sorted at Gretna for the friday night
tie the noose next am at the old blacksmiths and then leave for Loch Eck where there will be another field provided.
there we will have a pig roast and ceileidh which will go on until whenever.
a ceileidh is a celtic P*** up with people playing instruments and singing and dancing. notyhing organised just fun
we hope to meet some of u lot there and put faces to the names
cost of the weekend £0
bring your own booze (*bar wanted to charge 15% on drinks and charge me for coming out there too. told them to bog off we'd bring our own)
please let me have an idea if u can make it so i can organise pigs. dont fancy chasing them round the fields and those damn haggis move faster than me these days.

Hi Roi,
thanks for the invite, i,ll pencil it in the diary and get back to you later on.It,s a pity there,s not a location nearer to home,(or is there)Its going to be a fairly long trek for you ,Is loch eck near to Gretna, I can,t dance, sing or play a musical instrument but i,m pretty good at drinking so i might try the latter after half a tray of Stella :p :D  :)

c u later

mick

be glad to have you there carman. not too good at the singing myself (what, a welshman who cant sing)
loch eck is a good bit north of gretna I'm afraid. but is in the most fabulous area of scotland with the most increible scenery and the highland spirit where freedom is still paramount. wild camping is the norm there and people are made welcome by the locals.
there should be several of outr highland friends playing and singing and they wont object if you have a drink or 3 and a little highland fling

Hi,

Thanks for the invite, would love to come but to far for me would need two days to get there its a long way at 45mph (and thats down hill).

cas

probably 3 days to get back then after a few wee drams.
so take a week off and come anyway.
we would like everyone to be there if they can.
2 reasons.
we would like to meet friends we talk to thru the forums
all of you have the same interests as us.

A splendid idea :D Our 16th anniversary is 27th
If I can I would love to. Like cas it would take me 2 days but it sounds great.
If I can't I wish you all the best
Al

WELCOME GRUNTY, TO THE SITE AND TO THE WEDDING IF YOU CAN MAKE IT. ALL WELCOME.
it is a long way for us to but most of our friends are up there. that comes of spending our summers touring there. the reason we tour up there is the freedom to camp. and the people. they are great.

Hi Roi

hope you get better weather at gretna than now, just past through there and the roads were flooded ,had to by pass

see you later mick

I have been watching the weather with trepidation. will the place still be there?
and the levels of the lochs will be a lot higher too. my Mrs [2b] is really nesh so thinks anything from 30th september to June 30th is winter. i think she will still go tho.

Congratulations! only just joined this sight but been following it a while and tried some of your wildcamping spots with great success. My hubby and i finally tied the knot last july and did scotland as our honeymoon in our motorhome. It was fantastic, specially driving thru glencoe and climbing ben nevis (well a bit of it anyway!) Wishing you a fantastic day and every happiness .

join us for the laugh then hayjay. with all that experience of scotland you'll be able to find the ceileidh site at loch eck.
i will be sending out maps and details to those coming.
and thanks for the kind thoughts.

Hi there,

Im still hoping to get, do you have any details are we meeting fri night?, and wots on the prezi list.

Cas :D

not had any luck at gretna end. every ffarm we tried seemed to be owned by the owners of the blacksniths and they just keep directing me to ask braids. and they are a bit pricey. some friends have found one at about £4 for the night i could ask them if you like cas
#
so we are wilding it on the thursday night and friday night and rolling into the blacksmiths cp [huge one] at about 2 am. got to get in early so I can get Michelle's cement mixer going.
[ouch she was looking]

Yeh would you ask them for me please, Ive got to pick my daughter up in kendal on the friday so the other option is to stay there over night and drive up sat morn.

Thanks

Cass :D
