weather

We have had a light covering (1") of snow overnight, temp -2 ºC but blue skies & sunny.

None that is significant here in Taunton. It's more Frost that anything. Minimum amount on the hills, but not enough to cause any form of chaos.
Certainly hasn't put off the Caravan Club Rally here at the site. All 25 hard standings fully booked!!
Fair Play to them I say.

bit of snow on the hills near us but none here in north cornelly

Lots of snow here in South Wales and we're off out playing in it tomorrow!! Well, playing above it; going paragliding!!! Yippeeeeeeeee

I am not far from Ponteland (just oor the watter:D)

The main roads are fine if you avoid morning rush hour. You did not say when you are travelling but the forecast for Saturday is very cold with the odd shower. Sunday is forecast to be heavy snow. The wind is moving round to an Easterly and getting stronger which could bring more snow next week as well.

Thanks Maingate , left in a hurry but pleased to report got back after a fine week end.
Gas took a bit of a hammering though

No SNOW FOR 5Yrs

We've not had snow or Frost in the 4 Yrs of Being here!!! thats one of the perks of the Costa Blanca. No wonder there's half a dozen German motorhomes parked up down the road enjoying the sun. Hasn't stopped me looking at snow chains today as I'll need them when I get the MH in DEC for drive south. thats if the flights are still going then !!!

well this might sound daft with all the disruption around the country .but apart from the cold you can wrap up to keep warm . we are having some of the nicest weather we have had for a while, its been blue sky and sun for the last three or four days great walking weather .

Spain to Scotland

Arrived in Musselburgh (near Edinburgh) on our trip home, yesterday. Cheating now as we have spent the last couple of nights in real houses and real beds:), and van is now drained. We left Spain last Friday and were disappointed in the comparative lack of snow on the Spanish side of the Pyrenees - althought there were pictures on TV at service station we stopped at of snow in Navarra.
France was a different story, the Pyrenees were beautiful with snow and blue sky, and about three quarters of our drive north over 3 days there was snow blanketing the country. Thankfully the roads were mainly dry and clear of snow.
Dover - London CHAOS on Wednesday changed route plan and travelled though South London because could not go either way on M25 from M2:( Apart from heavy traffic trip to Cumbria OK (except last hour on minor roads, which should only have been half). Yesterday Carlisle to Edinburgh Motorway fine but snow on road across the Borders and on the Edinburgh Bypass. Dont anticipate problems reaching home (inverness) on Sunday.
We expect snow in the north of Scotlnd, and as I said before - we do not go to France & Spain to experience snow and sub zero temperatures - so although it is a shock to the system the conditions here are what we expect in a Scottish winter:)
