Due to Liz's arthritis and my dodgy fingers, I ordered this for the trip next week, it arrived this morning.
And it deals really well no matter which option it deals it perfectly, but it doesn't shuffle so back it goes.

So I looked at this one from AliExpress, which has a video showing it working. Why don't they all do that? It saves a lot of messing about, sadly it won't arrive until next week when we're away, a neighbour will take it in for us.

Peeps do knock AliExpress, but I can't recall anything being crap, and even then I always use PayPal for online purchases, and they have never let me down.

I'm sure there won't be any mentions on here about strip poker . There are some smutty people about

I can just about deal, and Liz can just about shuffle, so we manage okay, but quite often out of 7 cards, I had 4 in the previous game, so this solution works well hopefully, I bought a cheap £10 of Argos a few years ago, and it mostly worked, but I took it back.

So, what goes wrong when it tries to shuffle?
Tried it with different packs of cards?

(BTW that 2nd link, for AliExpress, is a bit of a con - the cheap price quoted is just for the buttons, not the machine. 😱)

Cancelled and refunded, my fault being hard of reading

Just saw this. We are serious board gamers and when I built our motorhome I had to make sure the tables were big enough as some games have a large footprint. Our favourite is Arkham Horror, The Card Game. Very expensive if you get hooked like we did but not for the casual gamer and definitely not for everyone. If your attention span is limited to that of a goldfish you're buggered, but my god it's so much fun. Three minute review:

I used to play Bridge in school but can't remember how these days. We've also played some decent not-so-standard card games. UNO is easy and fun, Cards Against Humanity is great - but I think being hammered is a prerequisite. 🍾🍸🍹🍷🍻 The filthy words that my mother in law came out with on that one - I was traumatised I tell you. Exploding Kittens and Muffin Time are both hilarious.

We have a pack of UNO, but just play it with a normal deck.

Nah, not for us, just normal card games, we have three or four we play, and maybe dominoes now and then.

We have a set (55 tiles) of 9 spot dominos which is the standard in Cuba.

The only other place I've played 9 spot was a pub in Lymm, Cheshire.
Every year the was a knockout competition for the title of "Domino Professional".
The current "pro" was not allowed to enter.

For the rest of the year, to play the "Pro" had to buy him (a Lady never won whilst I lived there) a pint.
If you won he had to buy you a pint back and could not play any more that evening.
The secret was to get to play him when he was just drunk enough to make mistake, and you were sober enough to take advantage.

A great tradition.
