We could be the ones causing the trouble.

I have occasionally looked at the threads on MHF and to be honest I have never seen anything that has induced me to pass comment.

I respect that the general membership has a totally different outlook on motorhoming than perhaps this site which pehaps is an indication as to why I hang about , pass comment and tease when needs be ..

My personal opinion is that MHf has a fair share of people that want to compare motorhome sizes, battery amperages and amont of money spent

This site however is more concerned with where we can stay official sites included;..;but also the wild sites where with the creature comforts our vans provide we can pretend to rough it .

Now I am wearing my tin hat, another thing I believe which differentiates this site from the others is actually the members willingness to share knowledge whether that be the nuances of a van or a spot in the big wild world.

i have to disagree i'm afraid,in fact i'm afraid i'm very disagreeable,as i'm sure you'd agree

I can not agree, with you, you see.
Because then you would be right, and I would lose the fight!

The main difference I have found between the wild camping forums and the other forums is that on the wild camping ones there are a greater proportion of self builders, unconventional types, singles, those on a budget seeking bargains, and those prepared to challenge the gravy trains of conventional camping life eg Filling own gas bottles etc. On the other forums there are a greater proportion of Mr and Mrs Smiths, wealthy retired couples who have plenty of cash to shell out on large rigs, extra insurance, extended guarantees, peace of mind, and premium cost sites.

Of course there are many of both types on both forums and many dual members its just trends I've seen.

Trends are useful, but I'm not stereotyping. I'd go out on a limb and say there are more men that like football than women who like football. But I'm not saying all men like football or that no women like football.

What makes this site standout for me is the real practical experiences from work, motor-homing or the world in general and the way that people in general are happy to give others the benefit of their knowledge.

We've now got a purpose built MH because it suits us and our need, but I've had homebuilts, caravans, tents etc most of which have been a result of my financial situation at the time.

For me a MH is to be used, be it for days out, holidays or extended trips or even just to go a couple of miles down the road to have tea and watch the sun set ( done that a few times about 2 miles from home, ended up staying the night because we could!!)

I choose the forum that suits me and no one else.
