Cheap road tax and able to carry a bigger load.Yay!
Took about a month but DVLA have changed our converted van to a MOTOR CARAVAN on first time application.
Now to up the weight from 3500. Its actually called a "heavy" with larger wheels, so should also be simple - a paper exercise we think.

As you may be aware, the DVSA is paying close attention to the condition and weight of vehicles, because over recent years it has found that more and more of them are running overloaded. SvTech can uprate most makes and models of motorhomes, horseboxes, minibuses, pickups and LCVs;www.svtech.co.uk
My Brother just had his apgraded and said it was a very efficient service from them.
Not true for motorhomes, I have recently upgraded mine from 3500kg to 3650 kg, purely a paperwork exercise to complete the forms and send to DVLA, (no SVTEC) and now cheaper Taxed as a PHGV classLast I heard DVLA where not lowering the tax if the vehicle was already registered under 3500kg.
