Waving

For me, it depends what type of road we are on. If we are on a country lane, then waving and smiling is on the cards, but if we are on a main highway then I may wave if I feel that I can spare the distraction. However I will not even think about waving if we are on a motorway, on today’s roads, they are far too busy and congested to take your eyes off the road, even for a second.
So, I reserve the right to decide if it’s too dangerous to start waving, and I hope nobody takes offence if they think otherwise.

I'm with Rog and do the same.

There's enough misery, fear and anger in the world already, so it's nice to show a little friendliness, even if it does seem a bit daft. (y)

I used to do it as a motorbiker, don't see any difference with campervans. 🤷‍♀️
Its just an acknowledgement that you share a common interest (but in both cases not so common?) and enjoy the same pastime/lifestyle etc.

If they wave back its a 'Yesss!' and feels like a result.
If they don't wave back you can have a good old grump and mutter 'miserable b***' instead - win/win whatever ;) :ROFLMAO: 😁

Either way, it passes the time on the road. Similar to playing 'I Spy' .... 🤪🥴

I got a wave from a french van when rounding a corner on a tight spot, they also knew my royal title as they shouted COUNT with a two finger Chirchhill salute :) think thats what they shouted as its hard to hear over the engine mind you, they had big red faces to so must of got some of our sunshine.

We were driving the long straight road north on Lewis a couple of years ago and the motorhome in front must have waved to an oncoming beast doing similar, both taking their minds off the road for an instant, there was this huge bang and the air full of debris as both their door mirrors met an unhappy end. Neither stopped to investigate or swap details. Must have been an expensive wave. It put me off waving for sure, I’d rather have both hands free to take evasive action if need be!

I don't see any thing wrong with waving. Can't see the connection with hand of wheel. You take the hand of the wheel to change gear. Possibly readjust mirror. Taking your eyes of the road. Why you wave with your hand surely. Not with your eyes. I think the danger is when the driver is watching the other Moho to see what type. Driver. Did they wave back. Etc. The actual waving. No worries. Brian
