Water tank lagging...

If your blankets soak up any moisture you will have trouble anyway if the moisture within them freezes - as suggested 12v electric thermostat controlled heater might be best option - dedicated battery with isolator from the rest of the batteries - at least you can keep waste tank empty if you use a bucket rather than storing it in waste tank which will freeze as well

Interesting thread - I have a collection of expanded cell recycled plastic as used by food suppliers to keep fresh food cold, in this case was Hello fresh when we had used them for a month or two. Need to test it see how flammable it may be but was considering using that around the water tank in mine? Thoughts ?

Stick in bucket of water overnight see how much water disappears and how much has been retained in covering or weigh covering first and weigh again following day

When we had our Autosleeper, both tanks were underslung and they both froze one winter. So, I fitted tank insulation and heated waterproof pipe insulation plus 12v tank heaters that fitted inside both the tanks. We used the heaters a few times and didn’t drain the batteries ( we had 3x110ah batteries). The heaters were thermostatically operated, keeping the water a few degrees above freezing.
Bought the lot from CAK tanks.
Luckily, our new van has a fresh water tank inside a heated double floor and all pipe work has heater channels running alongside
Waste tank is still outside though😏

Hi
I am going to lag my external fresh water tank.
There are quite a few different types of silver folk stuff I can use. Any anyone recommend a a brand and what thickness would be best?os
I bought a cheap aquarium heater when my tank got too cold forvthe pump to work. Good investment for 15 euros

You need to be careful to ensure it never switches in when the tank is empty. They die very fast like that!
