Water filter system

Whilst fulltiming our main problem is getting enough clean water for washing drinking etc
The new truck will have a water purification system fitted but I am going to make a system for use so we only carry clean water
I have purchased a 24v pump/ a in-line large particle filter/ a large carbon filter and a 3m pure water filter when built it will be able to handle water from rivers and streams hence cleaning the water before it goes in the tank, hence it will prolong our off grid use by some time,
This system will also allow me just to carry the fresh water filling hoses instead of a hose for dirty river water and a hose for tap water,
Total cost will be around £190

Does the system purify all water to drinking standard? Or an extra bit to do that? Don't need very pure to wash in....been looking at systems for our home in Portugal, water comes from a rock face and tests fine but concerned that sometimes it might not be ( after the fires for instance) but only want to filter the drinking water.

All water to drinking standards,
You could just use a car or filter if you not drinking it

That looks a quite reasonable cost, how many litres can you process before renewing the active filters?

3m system does 7600litres but not all water will need to be thru this I won’t use it from known tap supply

This is something I have been thinking about, how fast does it filter, do you need another (header) tank that holds the water waiting to be cleaned?

I spent a year with a company that specialised in aquaculture, in fact we made the filtration system for the Al-Burj Arab aquarium, which is part of hotel decor. Also filtration system for whole hotel fresh water requirements.

I'm no expert, but do know a little about this, especially filtration side. While carbon/charcoal filtration will remove hard particles, this will not remove bacteria if drinking straight from MH fresh water tank, you could be ingesting goodness knows how many nasties, like E Coli, Cryptosporidium, Campylobacters etc.

After carbon/charcoal filter, fit a UV steriliser system, the UV zaps the bacteria DNA before leaving, in your case, tap. You can buy 12v UV steriliser system, they aint cheap.

Being honest, I wouldn't drink water filtered by the method you mention above, unless you intend to boil first?

Pricey, due to outer shell being stainless steel, you can by cheaper, where outer body is plastic, which is what I would go for, plastic deteriorates through time internally, this is due to the UV light. Should be ok for your purposes within the MH.

silver inlay in the filters is a good way as well. silver is one of the best ways of purifying water.
i use doulton filters in my berkefield system.
when i worked with the local water company the scientists told me it was the best to have.
but these days drinking water can be found in just about most countries m,homers usually go.
even north africa is really good these days.
