I decided I'd had enough of buying fresh water so when a friend showed me their newly fitted fresh water filter system i started looking around.
There are a few firms out there I know but I settled on the kit from Pozzani, the Pozzani Kitchen Spring IX600 System
Pozzani Pure Water Online Store
I got in touch with the help desk, explained it was for a motorhome and needed to connect to the 5/8" O.D. fresh water pipe.
They were extremely helpful and substituted the copper pipe saddle joint for a relevent T junction.
Fitting was a bit fiddly, but not difficult, took about 2 hours.I need a 12v switch for the water pump as there's no micro switch in the tap. That's on the way from fleabay.
I just put the main tap on slightly to start the water pump to test it.
Here's the job so far, fitted under sink behind drawers in the hymer, giving us a good flow of filtered water.
Just a small amount of water spilt splitting the pipe as you can tell.
Alternative filters are available and last approx 6 months.

I've fitted Pozzani filters on the last few vans I've had, always found them helpful & prices of kits seemed to be reasonable. Did find that because water pressure wasn't as high as a domestic supply the flow could drop off quite a bit after a while. Handy though to be able to remove filter & scrape the gunge off the outside, just shows what muck we actually drink, this would restore most of the flow. Haven't bothered fitting on our latest van just tend to buy the odd 8 litre bottle for drinking cold water but just use the water out of the tank for hot drinks.

Many Thanks for making the effort to share this with us.

I've been meaning to fit one of these into the Hymer, but I've not done it yet because of the pump switching business.

I was planning to replace the in-tank pump, with an external (to the tank) Shurflo pressure drop type.
This would make the in-tap micro-switches redundant as an added bonus. I had to struggle replacing one last summer, do-able but a pita.

I like your idea of a push to make switch, wired in parallel with the sink/basin tap.

I've already got the Pozzani unit in the sidelines awaiting install, I've got a nice chrome push-to-make switch.

All that I am missing is the T-reducer/adaptor to tap into the existing van pipework.

Any ideas where they sell these ? I suppose that Pozzani will sell me one, as I already bought about 5 or 6 of these filter systems from them.

Can I get these from somewhere like screwfix ?

I would give them a call, they knew exactly what I wanted and supplied the T piece in my pics.If you ask for Steve packard I,m sure he could help .I would have looked in the usual places, plumbers merchants etc.As for the switch I havent got one that I really like yet.I can picture an on/off switch with a long thread and nut to go through 12mm approx cupboard frame under the sink but all I,m finding is something like this:
5x DC 12V/10A 3 Pin ON-OFF Type Toggle Boat Rocker Switch R/G/B/Y | eBay
I,ve ordered it so Hopefully I can do something with it.

I'll be using one of these switches, flush, chrome, push to make.

I looked at the push switch but think a simple on/off would be better as it leaves your hands free to work the tap.
This one works ok.I used a 20mm wood bit, tested first on a spare bit of board.Gives a nice interference fit .

After twice nearly flooding the place by being distracted while filling the kettle for a brew I concede that switch is more user friendly :D
The system is paying for itself though.
On our holibobs for the last 3 weeks and good drinking water always on tap.:D

Dont know if its any use but Wildebus on here has an online shop and gives members a discount and he does switches that fit into CBE frames and covers. If you are still looking give him a pm I am sure he can sort you out, he did me :)
