Water filling tip

Ever struggled filling a watering can or carrier from the washbasin tap in a public loo?

An easy solution dawned on me today.

I have one of those short filling hoses fitted with a push on rubber connector. Never used it till today, but it's an ideal solution for this scenario.

I carry one of those in my van, along with a two-litre plastic jug. Then I can use whichever is the most suitable at the time for filling up my water containers.

I recently spent some time filling up with the jug from a washbasin tap, then later noticed that there was a very convenient outside tap near to my van that would've saved me the trouble!! :)

the best hose, may be the one you have,is the filler hose off an old twin tub

Used one of those filler hoses for years but they sometimes can be tricky when you get one of those modern square type taps. I was is Skeggy last year and pushed my bell end over the tap (no funnies please). I put my hose into my 25 ltr container and holding my bell end over the tap... opened the tap up. The water shot out of the side and up the tiles on the wall, bounced off, and went all over the bloke next to me who was washing his hands. So be aware!
