WATCHOUT Advanced Radar Technology on it's way

Bring it on !
The more the merrier, anything that will reduce speeding and the other offences mentioned is a good thing imho.

Agreed, but it's easy to lose concentration or be momentarily distracted and one's speed can easily creep up without noticing. Of course as soon as you realise you slow back down, but that's all it takes to get a fine and endorsement. It will definitely put a focus on each journey.

I think the tailgating detection will be a very good thing.

are there any perfect drivers on our roads ? - This system, whilst laudable in many ways, tries to make us all perfect - and presumably fines us if we are not. i bet we have all done one or more of the transgressions in this film.... maybe we were in a city we did not know and were in the wrong lane.......

its Big brother gone a bit mad if you ask me...... in the UK road deaths have been coming down in recent years - do we really need to spend a huge amount of money installing such a system here ?

Loads- a- money springs to mind. I'm all for safe driving, but I'm not perfect, and, i would suggest, neither is anyone else.

It's clearly a clever piece of technology designed to make loads of money. That's for sure.

Maybe, but in the meanwhile what are you going to do while you wait 20 years for that transition to happen?

Didn't it mention that it is French? Post ****** I hear they wont want to trade with us. Happy days :)

Kinda pointless with driverless cars coming into production.

I think they have massively underestimated the complications of driverless cars, I don't think we'll see them for a long time yet! I have seen these 'tests' they've run, in principal the driverless car is quite easy, so long as ALL vehicles are driverless, as soon as you add a human in the mix it will NEVER work!

A couple of obvious problems with these super traffic cameras that I think must be addressed.

!, if they are as accurate as it seems then drivers will be looking at their speedo more than the road, & 2, when there's a long queue of traffic, you can't see any lane markings so won't know if you're in the correct lane.

Strikes me as big brother gone mad.
It's just amazing how little the so called experts in human behaviour, actually know about human behaviour, all this watching & restricting our freedoms simply makes your average well adjusted, thoughtful & considerate person, become desperate for the freedom of the past.

And so you get a more belligerent, obstructive & aggressive person in their place!!

For me,all these cameras and such, are failing in the most important aspect...they are failing to prevent the offence, just raking in the fines.Problem is of course, driver education will reduce an important income stream
