waaaah.. someone help!!!

We spent last Christmas in the southern Lakes. Had howling gales with the van rocking like mad, but despite our fears we didn't get blown over. However, in the future - to increase our comfort - we will make sure we are parked front to the wind.

What wind?? Hardly a breath in N Wales at moment, cloudy but no rain overnight.

Best of luck, hope you didn't sink into the mud!!

I hope you survived the night.

I think the wind would have to be really bad to turn a van over, though if you had an awning out it might be another story. I survived a tornado at a music festival in Derbyshire the second time out in my van, you can see my husband standing outside the open door in the picture below, the stage and tents were another story though.

I was at that festival too! This year the weather was better - little wind but very, very wet and our motorhome had to be towed off.

I did wonder when I saw you were from Belper, I had to get towed off site tornado year but not this as we were in the disabled field and parked on a downhill slope. The mud was interesting this year.

hi just jane, what is the festival and when is it cheers

But the music was great, wasn't it? :rockroll:

Rab - it was Bearded Theory, which now takes place at Kedleston Hall, Derby (although the tornado-affected one was at the original site near Ashbourne). It is held in late May - website www.beardedtheory.co.uk

You beat me to it. Yes John the music was great, highlights for me were 3Dm and Ben Otwell :cool1:

Spent an autumn night in a motorhome high up on a vista overlooking Tyneham in Dorset. Wind blew a gale with rain and fog. I love being tucked up in bed feeling all cosy on nights like that. We woke in the morning to a cracked screen, a huge figure 8 all over the drivers side of screen But you never know it might have cracked whether we had been there in the wind or not. Still not put me off bad weather, I love it
