No 'flying Colours' for the vans MOT this year !

Brakes less important than Registration plate!

And what excuse have you for not going over the brakes before the test, 20 lashes at dawn, yes correct some thinks very silly at mot, i have caught them out twice here and beat them.

Who says he didn't (well he maybe didn't), an advisory for 'thin' brake pads means they are still legal and able to function perfectly correctly, but they will need replacing at some time soon. I had the same advisory a couple of weeks back and was well aware that the brakes where fine, but they will be replaced soon.

Number plate not conforming is a black and white fail according to the test criteria .

Brake pad material thickness is an advisory
As long as it is within test criteria .

Can't see an issue to be honest .

Some things mot test wise are black and white

Some are down to the testers discretion

What chance have I got of seeing the brake linings if I cant see the number plate issue 😕

Anyway took it apart today , they were a bit thin on one side compared with a new set, Fiat X250 rear

Brakes, not a problem, it's the number plate that's dangerous 😉. MOT to prove it 😅.
Not really the mot testers job to make sure you have functioning brake pads though is it ....

The MOT test is basically a safety net ...

Hence why it's pretty much only valid on the day of testing ....

Driving with brakes in that state is frankly poor maintenance/servicing .
