After getting by on a Chinese mppt copy which altered the voltage reading of the battery to a permanent high level, l purchased a victron mppt 75/15 and a new lead acid battery, very pleased.

I don't think you can go far wrong with Victron.

Many liveaboard narrowboaters have been using their gear for years.

I had one installed the 100/30. I intend to fit a second 120w solar panel this summer hence this model. I like the blue tooth connectivity. These controllers are used by experienced Motorhomers and can increase charging rates by up to 30%.
But they also help batteries last longer.

I have the Smartsolar 100/30. It is a great bit of kit and easy to view output via bluetooth

Yes the bluetooth is an excellent aspect of the controller, l was always checking the Chinese controller and to be fair it was accurate in its readings but I think it never really absorbed the extra amps that the battery didn't need and therefore damaged it.
