Van security

TBH Ral it’s a waste of time, the steering turned to the wall and the alarm are more than enough, but SWMBO worries, moans and nags about it.

The drive was designed to protect my work van 20 years ago, we went through a spate of van tool thefts in the village about 10-12 years ago, they never touched mine.
Actually Kev, you have just given me food for thought regarding our security. I'm going to ditch the English Bull Terrier sign and stick a photo of Izzy, in full flow, on the dash.
Any scrote brave enough to break in deserves the MH!

Just wait until our Tilly is fully grown Ral.

Any scrote breaking in whilst she is in residence will think they'd come face to face with the Hound of the Baskervilles!

(wonder if I can get some red contact lenses for her)

It’s a Carthago Malibu that we have bought
Great choice, we are delighted with our Malibu Van and not regretting downsizing from an A class one little bit. However there is less space for storing deterrents and I think a visible steering wheel lock might well get in the way. I am leaving the security to a tracker and Cat 1 immobiliser/alarm.

18y of owning a MH and all I've relied on is the VanBitz alarm fitted for approx £600: I haven't got round to sticking on the adhesive warning signs
Put it down to good luck rather than good management but all that has happened to me is someone stole my red "Fire" bucket from a campsite in France, where it was marking my pitch. We have wild-camped in several EU countries and all over UK, as well as using a range of sites. We often drive to attractive car parks and leave it for a few hours: never even had a parking ticket :)

I hope I haven't talked up a disaster!

For short stops I partially closed the blinds and tune the radio to a talk program, with a single press of the fob to arm and lock all the doors.

For longer stops a second press confirms that the internal sensors are also activated, although I have to remember to close the roof lights.

I really ought to add a pedal lock, but keep forgetting.

I think you may have that the wrong way round.

With my alarm system the second press disables the interior sensors. This is the logical way to do things.

I agree with @Canalsman above, a second click of the arming button usually disables the interior ultra sonics leaving the alarm in pet mode.

I have never really bothered about anti-theft security items for vehicles
if they want to nick them then they will
I keep my MH in a secure storage facility
but..
when I am away in the MH I always keep a couple of "equalizers" to hand under the front seat

1. A pair of nunchuks .. cuz I am a qualified martial arts instructor (and I need to keep practicing)
2. and A big baseball bat (cuz I am still practicing to be a baseball player)

Hope you've not .
You rely on your vanbitz alarm which no-one knows you have ?
Hard to tell how effective it's been

The advice given in general is to NOT advertise the alarm system fitted to a vehicle.
