Only used my portable induction hob a few times, mainly to boil water for a cuppa. Looking forward to giving it a proper test soonish. Great for use outside though.
Not so sure I'd want to rely on it solely for all cooking, especially if parked up for a few days. More power storage needed.

Portable induction hob could make sense given enough solar etc, portable the best bet i'd say, because in winter unless on ehu or moving on, power available can be limited, and use the gas hob.

No it doesn't, but my post was a reply to Number14 rather than a suggestion for the OP.

I would quite happily have a diesel hob to cook on and heat the van and use a kettle for hot water.

Couple of things about going to EU

1) She will need several LPG adapters for EU.
2) Headlight adapters for driving of right side
3) Check she is aware of Death Zone stickers / 90 day limit / LEZs
4) I put my wrist watch on the "other" wrist to remind me to drive on the other side.

Our Gaslow adaptor for Spain purchased in 2014 has never fitted any Spanish nozzles, leaks very very badly, but Gaslow said the pumps were at fault, not their adaptor! On close inspection you can see the one they will lend you in Spain differs slightly. Maybe Gaslow have updatedvtheir offer....

It's your van and your buget I went all 12v electric from the start of my van biuld with removable 2 x 800 watt hob so low power. we only do weekends in winter. If your full time in van then where you park it. it's a ongoing concern for me.

All Electric in vans are not proven as yet ! but some have started 12 v and 24v systems not heardof a 48v system in a van3.5 tonn. but thats 100kg battery pack. only a few years in with lithium batteries . first battery pack to ten years wins. but go 24volts it cheaper at 500amps or above With a electric van hab area.

Like gas it's only good if you don't run out of commodities !

Keep warm all , But I use diesel for that.
