Just noticed that my vehicle plate reads 3.5t and my V5 reads 3.8t.
The manufacturers brochure reads 3500/3800.
I'm going to Europe in August which is legal ?

Mine also reads 3500, but my V5 reads 4100 - this is because I have had it uprated. I’d assume your converter has down the same to yours.

FWIW, when SV Tech did their bit to get my van back to the manufacturer's 3.85 tonnes from the 3.5 tonnes a previous owner had downplated it to, they also supplied a supplementary VIN plate to be stuck near the original or on the driver-side B pillar if not enough room by the original VIN. From this, I suspect that you need to fit a supplementary plate rather than replace the original. HTH, Geoff

do you need the plate or does carrying the V5 enough ?
When I uprated mine from 3.4 to 3.7 I was given a new VIN plate (not metal) and SvTech did say that it had to be fixed on the vehicle where it could be seen if anyone wanted to see it, I was told that I didn't need to remove the original

I was under impression that a correct VIN plate was needed on the vehicle and each one supersedes the others.

I have 3, the original Peugeot one showing 3,500kg, next to it is the ALKO one showing 3,850kg when it was uprated at conversion manufacture and on the drivers wheel arch ( no more room on the slam panel ) the SVTech one from when i uprated it to keep it legal and within the MTLPM.
