...and I should also say 'hi' to you all as I haven't posted before - though I have lurked a lot in recent weeks!

We've just bought a 55 plate Transit self build - the conversion has been done beautifully, though I have discovered a cracked bell housing to the gearbox  when it went in to have the starter done, so we're not up and running yet... but watch this space...!

Sorry to change the subject... just enjoying the forum :)

I have a head like a sieve as a result of far too much fun when I was younger

I got mine aged 11 [1960] living in Walsall when I fixed a mates dads Ford Popular. points had closed up..also fitted a Heater to it and the much needed Jabsco water pump.
He said I'd be a Professor of Engines by the time I left school and that was it, :D

I then found a moped dumped in the cut at Coalpool [New Hudson 98cc]
Fixed that and rode round Swannys field for 2 years...

Cue much Kudos from me mates
stuck ever since as Proff...............

topsy is the name we gave my 1975 camper van - as shortly before we bought it I came across a wierdly strange but frankly quite upsetting story of Topsy the Elephant who was electrecuted to death by the infamous Mr elephant killer Eddison:mad:

honestly, the inventor of the lightbulb electrecuted an elephant to death for the entertainment of the public, what a bloody cad:eek:

.... there is a link to the utube video on my blog, and also a link to the first page I ever read about Topsy.

needless to say, most of my issues with our Topsy have been of an electrical nature, from batteries that refuse to charge to fuses that blow without warning! poor topsy:D

My dogs name spelt backwards, never clashes with anything, was going to change it when the old guy died a few months ago after 17 years, but thought it a fitting tribute to keep it, you dont meet many friends in life as good as he was.

"Hallii" is a Lithops (Stone plant) species from South Africa and I grow lots of Lithops from seed.

I am also G4LXI but don't operate now.
