Morning all.
Sorry for the long title😁
Has anyone one found and fitted a specific kit for the above, or had an easy fit of a DIY buy your own parts job? If so, I'd be interested in where from, how much, photos etc. Need more room in the van now.

Thanks

Colin

I now just use 25ltr tubs x2 out of travis perking. £15 each and fully drained / empty when home. but we only do weekend away
Tanks cost are expensive @ £ 1.00 a liter and hard to justify for me and or clean.

Think Brixham last week.

I put in a set of Cak tanks, and for an easy life I bought the set with all the fixtures and fittings. TBH I couldn't find a much cheaper solution doing it DIY and it's a fiddly enough job anyway.

It wasn't super clear where they should be mounted so I put my fresh drivers side and waste passenger. Needed to change the mount bend points and angle grind a few inches off but easy enough. A bottle jack or similar is super useful if you can't persuade the wife under the van (good luck with that!).

I had some spare insulation so figured that wouldn't hurt too.

Really pleased with how it turned out and so much more room in van now. Happy to answer any questions you have or share photos.

I'd put it inside easy access frost free no brackets to buy must be cheaper I expect there are but I never seen a van with water tank underneath

I just need the room for other stuff or I'd leave it inside to be honest. Yep, there are loads of vans with external tanks, usually level with the sills so they're not so visible 🙂👍

Do outside tanks need to be black to stop growth ? in the water

Just found the exact kit I ordered, plus the extra guages:

I used 1.25" push lock waste plumbing on the inside and managed to get a decent enough seal onto their pipe work.

Completely invisible unless you get under the van and the filler cap blends in nicely (once they swapped the black one for the white I ordered!). Keeps the centre of gravity nice and low as well.

Both mine are cak tanks been on about 10 years now no probs at all with them
