UK is so competitive nowadays?

I got a price for a new Iveco Daily 4x4 (because there are not any used ones). To spec it with a spare wheel is £170 + vat which seems fair. If you want a second spare you have to buy it from the parts department which costs £1340 + vat.

I have not won the lottery but the value of my Hymer at the moment makes doing a self build very appealing.
Does the £1340 include the additional wheel carrier? £1170 sounds about right for that in the 4x4 world.
Aftermarket one will be be half that if one is made by anyone.

Usually a few on mobile.de. Panel vans and chassis cab versions, usually a few Achleitner ones too.

No, it is just the wheel.
I think part of the issue is that it is a 7500kg EuroCargo 4x4 chassis with an Iveco Daily body bolted on top. So it is a single rear wheel with a 5500kg axle load.

Been following them and their van on utube etc. Very sweet van indeed. Proper beast.

Strange Iveco still show pictures with twin rear wheels on the largest of the panel vans, with the standard 16" wheels tyres rather than the off road 19" option, which has to be the one to go for.
I think all the 7 tonne Dailys have Eurocargo rear axles, even the two wheel drive.

The twin wheel version is a normal van chassis. The single wheel is on the eurocargo chassis with the van body bolted on top.

Around 6 years ago at the NEC show in Birmingham Fiat had a 4x4 Ducato panel van on the stand.
I tried to buy it from them but the very nice Italian lady said NO.. it's just to show what we are thinking of building...
A lot of thought must be going into it as it ain't here yet
Murvi Morello in Somerset are building on the all drive Ford base Transit or rwd and fwd options.

The problem with the normal 4x4 vans is that they do not have diff locks. These vans use electronic tracking control to brake the wheels that lose traction. Diff locks help you stop losing traction in the first place. The Iveco has a rear, centre and front air operated diff locks and a low range gearbox. It can wade in 60cm of water and has a wading control that stops the engine fan from spinning to prevent damage. The Iveco also has underbody protection and rock sliding bars factory installed.

That's just it, that Fiat had all this with a 6mtr van body.... it didn't have any habitation gear inside it. Definitely a X250 though.
Never got a reply from the factory about it either.....

Not so sure about that, although not looked into current or reasonably current Ducato 4x4's.
Pretty sure Fiat would use the Dangel 4x4 kit, very different to the Iveco system.

Yes, it was the Dangel system. They no longer advertise to fit it to Fiats.
