U.K. largest forecourt LPG supplier to end sales of LPG at forecourt’s end of 2024.

If LPG is finished, then an awful number of taxis are going to be parked up.

Plus remember, the Morrisons supermarket chain has recently been taken over by a bunch of money people, who have no experience of retail sales.
They had a scare at Wellingborough, and will do whatever they can to sell whenever the profit is big enough to satisfy the greedy b……s

Presumably that will be cheaper as it won't be liable for road fuel tax

It's not! I was at Marquis Exeter a couple of weeks back to buy some (over priced) toilet blue and LPG was £1.25 a litre. Id just filled up in Barnstaple at 80p I think.

However I can see why it would be more expensive. Lot of outlay, small amount of sales and it looked like it wasnt self service. I would be happy to pay that though for convenience.

<snip>

French Crit'Air permits access to all cities, <snip>, so no bother with LEZs/ULEZs etc. It just gets more and more appealing ...

Pretty sweeping statement!
What of Paris? My recollection is that Crit'Air 3 and worse are banned during daytime hours.

And you have to pay to use most autoroutes to get to the cities or past them. I would rather pay for the few occasions I enter a city than pay to avoid them.

Deliberately so. There are quite a few free autoroutes, and you can travel many kilometres for the £30 per day ULEZ charge, offsetting the cost of travel with available LPG at a consistent price, the better weather and the Free/cheap Aires. Crit'Air is a one off payment of about £5.

@TJBi same re deliberate response. Crit'Air2 for me allows access [wouldn't drive around Paris in any event]. Same emissions level as when I'm in Scotland, yet I am banned from Glasgow LEZ [but Fairground Lorries from 1967 are permitted, and what about the motorbikes, Classic Cars, 2 strokes exemptions, or don't these contribute pollution? And, after the appalling Scottish Summer, a modicum of inconvenience for decent weather, decent facilities, and a welcoming atmosphere ...

Yes, but you didn't say that Crit'Air2 allows access, you said Crit'Air, which is highly misleading.

Nit picky. 'Highly misleading?' is a gross exaggeration, whereas I would normally just go for exageration. A Crit'Air will get you into most cities at present, and Rouen has a Crit'Air3 route that the Tourism Office will highlight for you. But never mind

On the back of U.K. LPG woes we have purchased the Gaslow reserve gas connection hose and adaptor for U.K. calor propane cylinders. If ever we are in a U.K. LPG dark zone and run low at least we can use calor as a back up.

Just curious but how is it that France and Spain appear to continue to have plenty of LPG stations, but the U.K. appears to be slowly, or even rapidly, giving up on LPG stations?

Stupidty and not many vehicles to use it with now.

I'm hoping the none forecourt suppliers will continue and maybe even get a few new ones.
I agree stupidity. Of the 3 fossil fuels commonly used by ICE vehicles LPG is the least polluting. As we move towards being carbon neutral using LPG makes more sense than either petrol or diesel.
