Tyre Inflator

I have a RING tyre compressor tyre inflation thingymajig, it's ok but I must remember it shows 10psi lower than my mechanics £1000 jobby.
That doesn't necessarily mean his is accurate though?! :)

I have that lidl pump as well, heavy unit and well made but compared to the ring unit in my earlier post it is very very slow once you get above 40 or so psi.

The Ring unit is really very good for less than £13 delivered.

Then there must be something wrong with it as the Lidl comp is slightly higher spec than the Ring RAC700 which is much higher than the RAC610. maybe your valves need looking at.

Steve I am still using my Black and Decker Tyre Inflator, been good now for 20 years or more.

Still got a shed full of B&D kit, some hasn’t even been out the box !
I’ve had 2 18 volt Dewalt drills fail but fortunately I acquired 4 when I left B&D plus 6 spare batteries so not a problem.

This reminds me ...

Many years ago some garages had a portable tyre inflation device. Basically it was a compressed air reservoir on a stand, with a carrying handle, airline and gauge.

You disconnected the appliance from its source of compressed air and carried it to the car, pumped up the tyres, then returned and reconnected it so that the reservoir could be re-pressurised.

A good idea. I wonder when these devices disappeared?

If you have a Costco card they have a couple one is a Goodyear model about £35 they also have the power station one with the light and jumpstart built in ive had one of these for 5 years used a couple of times and it’s been great about £70 and Costco 5 year warranty.
