We had thought about getting satellite dish, but were wary after having a rubbish Camos dome on last MH.
Sorry if this is irrelevant to people who want/have satellite dish. This is what we have done for
the last 2 months, in Spain, we’ve only downloaded tv using iPad. You do need a good sized storage on iPad.
We’ve managed to download with VPN and paid for ITV Hub £3.99 a month. ITV essentials is supposed to work abroad, still £3.99 a month but is garbage - loads of complaints which they don’t bother to reply to. Make sure you register your account in uk at home before you set off. You can watch live tv as well if you really want to. Oh another plus ITV hub cuts out the adverts.
Also been able to download BBC with VPN but a bit more tricky as BBC are on to use of VPN.
Same with All Four - loads of box sets but only last for 7 days but you can download again if you don’t watch in time.
We haven’t used TV at all in the last 2 months and won’t be bothering with satellite again.
Just need to find cafes with very good WiFi connections. They are the ones that get our money. Yesterday we were in a cafe that downloaded quicker than you could count.
Possibly another post would be fast WiFi connection cafes etc.
One point re data - it’s not worth even thinking about using that for watching tv -1hour tv = approximately 1 gb of data. 3 mobile allow, (even unlimited data contract) customers to use only 12gb a month - so you do the maths. I believe vodaphone are better. I’ve got an old contract with 3 so it’s not been worth my while changing yet - but never say never.
