There seems to be a very large price difference between different omnidirectional tv aerials. There must be a large difference in performance between the cheapest on ebay at £18.00 and the most expensive at ££110.00.
I have always used a sat dish & tripod but have decided not to cart this around now that the signal in Europe is so week.
I can quite happily live without tv, but it can be handy on a miserable winters night. Also keeps the missus quiet while I read.
What aerials do you use?

You will probably find that the cheaper Ebay £18 directional number works better than the more expensive omni-directional. Of course in Europe you will only pick up national stations, so don't expect to get Eastenders in the South of France. You will get French stations and thats it. We changed from a dome satellite system to a Status omni-directional and frankly it is rubbish. The worst thing of all with the omni-directional antenna is that every time you move to another location you have to re-tune the TV. This results in our TV not being switched on for a good deal of the time, which frankly is no real hardship. Ditto for internet reception.

We sat and watched a guy with a Sat Dish on a CL Site. He spent ages setting it up and twisting it round and round. He kept moving it a bit at a time. Then he pegged the tripod down and started again. After a couple of hours he packed it all away and threw it back in the locker.

Talked to him later and asked was his problem was. Turned out that by the time he had a picture he could watch the match had finished ..

..

We use a Snipe Megasat ang get a decent picture in most locations. It's really handy as you just press a button to activate it and when you have finished press the home button and it puts itself away. I have asked in the past about Terrestrial Ariel but have not been convinced that they are any good. Our Tv takes a couple of minutes to tune itself in. At least with freesat its the same channels everywhere.

Put 'Millenco Omnidirectional' in the search facility, at the top of the page. This will bring up a thread discussion about these aerials.

That's why I splashed out and got an automatic dish on the roof.
