We are all extremely grateful for our emergency services and all those who work in the NHS, as well as other key workers who are working during this difficult time, but I would like to give a big shout-out to the truckers who continue to keep the country moving during this difficult time.

I feel they are getting a raw deal, what with toilets and showers been closed at the services areas as well as cafes, but they continue to work longer hours, they truly are the knights of the road and I for one are truly grateful.

They get a raw deal at the best of times, shocking lack of facilities and rest areas, and if there are facilities they or there company get ripped off to use them. I often wonder what their European counterparts think when they have to come to the UK,I suspect they're glad to get back over the ditch where they get treated with respect and have fantastic facilities laid on. This current situation just adds to the misery of their job.

Exactly the same as the European Motorhomers Asterix.

Yes, there are perfect similarities.

Nobody would argue truckers are the modern lifeline for getting supplies to us, whatever they may be.
That is even more crucial right now.

The majority of motorhomes are leisure vehicles.

Europe treats both groups with respect and proper facilities.

The UK does neither. We're a joke, imho.

So what's changed, truckers have always been classed as an evil naccesity, back in the 60 s I did heavy haulage and a turd on the pavement got more respect than you did.
One advantage was when the police pulled you over I use to ask "are you my escort" and they bu--erd off sharpish, used that quite a few times.

Any self respecting wilder knows, first time in France best lunchtime grub his relais de routiers the more trucks parked up the better the same can’t be said of Betty’s baps in brighouse
