Spent a couple of pleasant nights in Troon south beach carpark. Lots of storm damage to roofs on the sea front, Wullie get down there with your business cards. :)
There was also lots of flotsam from the storm on the beaches.
Great town Troon, plenty of shops and a great beach with views over to Arran.
Went to Scott’s on the marina for lunch.
There are three carparks to park, including one with dedicated motorhome pitches.
Ayrshire council have done really well providing places for us in several locations.
Took this shot on Saturday morning near to the south beach carpark.

Thanks for the pic, we are heading to Troon to catch the new Glen Sannox ferry in a few days time, although it's only an hour or so up the road for us, so don't need to overnight there.

Many years back when sailing off Arran we needed to call for help as our yacht was sinking. We were attended by the Tighnabruich lifeboat, the Troon lifeboat, a coastguard vessel and a helicopter. All ended well but our yacht was towed back to Troon by the lifeboat. So I have somewhat mixed feelings now about the marina there!

Thanks for the info on Troon .I`m hoping to go there sometime this year i`m going to Hunterston to meet the laird there . Any more info would be grateful. :)

I have sailed out of Troon marina in my pre motorhome life , loved the place great chippy great MH stopover .
The Wee Hurrie is the best fried fish I've ever had. Years ago Iamthegooddan (forgotten his forum name) introduced us to it. Can still remember my sole as it was that good.

I am sure others on here have lots more info.
But there are several carparks and some with dedicated motorhome places. The carpark we stayed in although next to the beach did not have an unspoilt sea view due to a mound between the sea and the carpark. However it was a good size with about 50-60 places, and quite flat. The south carpark and the carpark at the head of the port had good sea views but the one at the head of the port was noisy being next to a large sawmill. I would arrive before 9 in summer months to make sure you get a parking space,
Scott’s at the marina was worth a visit nice food good service.
And there are nice cafes in the town for a coffee.
