Hi to all thinking of going up west coast in June July any tips on places . And a chilled out route cheers.
Head up the A82 alongside Loch lommond and turn left, follow the A83 to Lochgilphead,
Then the B841 to Crinan Canal
B8025 and B816 north to Oban, (take a detour down the b8002 to the Craignish peninsula to the dead end in a car park and see the most amazing views across to the Islands, plus detour No 2 down the B844 over the bridge over the Atlantic to Seil Island).
From Oban head inland on the A85 to tyndrum, meet the A82 again turning left to cross Rannoch moor and along Glen Coe.
Head north to Corran, take the ferry across into the A861, head west along loch Sunart and then North to Mallaig where you get the ferry to Skye.
Enjoy skye and the cross back via the small Skye ferry to Glenelg. Over the hill til you pick up th A87 North via Eilen Donan castle to the Kyle of Lochalsh.
North on to plockton, Lochcarron, over the most amazing high pass to Applecross. make sure you pick up the A832 loop around the rugged coast line.
Once you hit Ullapool you decide to continue north to Durness or head inland and enjoy the Moray firth Dolphins.
Amazing journey, enjoy
Pete
