That's odd, just checked on laptop and phone and it shows the road, even shows street view along it.

Well it didn't when we were driving it. Perhaps that was lack of phone signal so it could not fetch the map segment?

If you go on to campra there are plenty of Aires in Northumberland

I did wonder after posting if it might have been that, that's why I keep my old TomTom going, whilst Google maps claims to download sections of maps you cannot rely 100% on it working with no mobile signal.
