Totally unbelievable camp site charges. Legal/illegal?

I had watched that vid before this thread but haven't watched again. From memory, (which, as you know may be wrong) they either booked this by phone just before arrival or when they got there on spec. Say if that's wrong though as it makes a big difference. You couldn't do anything about insurance and cancellation stuff as you didn't have 2 weeks prior. Also why a booking fee when you arrive at the gate?

It's a booking fee at £4 by 'phone or £12 online Neil. (or vice versa) I don't think you can just turn up and book at the gate.

I do Kev, and not just because of the prices.

I can't stand big, officious, regimented sites.
I just dislike sites Rob.

I’m staying on one on Wednesday but only because we roll into Knockhill Thursday and I want my fresh water full, my black waste empty and my batteries and EcoFlow full, will be the first time on a site in 3 years.

Knockhill facilities are carp, but the racing will be good.

Yep. Pub stops are favourite Kev and supports the dying pub trade.

In that case they'd probably let you in Barry! :)

Maybe they will charge you a booking fee for standing in front of the man and handing over your money. :D Well why not? Its no faster than doing it online. Actually its slower. :D Double Tw@s

Yeah probably Barry - I can't bring myself to watch it again as I don't care really! :)

Was paying £75 a night for a week stay at a five star site in France last week had a luxury pitch all hedged in you could have held a mini meet on the pitch 16 amp electric own tap and waste point immaculate right on a stunning beach walk to a stunning village. The best swimming pool and entertainment complex I’ve ever seen. I’ve stayed in some really nice Hotels all over the world and the facilities here were on a par. The week prior I stayed on some nice Aire costing €10 to €15. There’s a difference when it’s your holidays and you’re not just farting about.

I bet they still made you wear budgie smugglers in the pool though! :D

That comment reminded me of my first visit to Cuba (many many years ago).

In the UK the resort was advertised as a family resort, but in Canada they may a point of pointing out it was "clothing optional".

To say our initial view was reveling is an understatement, but visiting the beach was a whole new experience.

Between the rooms and the beach was a fifty foot cliff and the only way up/down was a zig zag set of steps cut into the cliff face.
If you were going up and a nudist was coming down at some point you were looking directly at their lack of budgie smugglers.
Even worse was if you were following a nudist up the stairs and they were 4 steps ahead.

It wouldn't be so bad but in my experience of nudists they seldom look like Emma Watson. :D
