Totally free hot water

Rick your clip was a great laugh, try screwed up news paper in the fire bowl with small thin dry twigs on top first. Light the paper with the kettle in place through the hole. When it's going drop more thin pieces of wood/ twigs through the top

Looking on eBay I can see no-brand ones, and slightly more expensive Gelert ones - does anyone know if it is worth paying extra for the Gelert ones?

Steve.

Sorry, I was actually asking about the solar shower brands - whether better to buy a branded one rather than a no-brand one.

However, I didn't know there were different makes of Kelly Kettles available - so that is useful to learn.

Steve.

Don't bother with the branded ones. They all work the same. The only thing about the Gelert was a better little shower nozzle but not better enough to justify the greater price. So go cheap cheap cheap.

LIDLS have the solar showers for sale £3.99, starting Monday.

Trust it to be a Bank Holiday Monday, but I'll be there bright ish and early ish, also want a BBQ cover.

regards the kelly kettles i have had one like theone on the clip for about 15yrs . the one i bought at the carboot is older . very thin aluminium and comes with a water container that fits up the chimney .it does have the sirram volcano kettle made in england stamped into it it really heats up quick. smaller the twigs or we use roots growing out in the desert when there. real good tool .

Tried out the Lidl solar shower today, once all joints were tight it was leakproof. Laid on dash of MH for about 3 Hrs with about 10L water, takes 20L, cloud/sun weather and it was easily hot enough to wash dishes.

Next time I'll exclude all the air as it swelled up slightly so keeping the water and plastic separate so less heat transfer.

The only issue was that the filler bung was a very tight fit, not a bad thing really.

Think I'd better get ours out then, - which joints did you have to tape up?? (BTW, you got Derek bang to rights in the story, tight old git!!)

KP x x

Didn't tape but had to screw the tap connector really well to make a good joint.
