Torque setting for wheels on ducatto

Hi ***** I have 15 inch wheels and I have set my torque wrench to 160nm.
My car has a setting of only 110nm, I was surprised at the difference.

A wheel coming of is a rare event, but as you say it can and has led to some devastating consequences.
I realy don't get why some feel that they can ignore advice given to them.
Tightening your wheel nuts to the required torque is simple and the torque wrenches are cheap.

Possibly just me, but with a bike kicking out 150bhp through a single wheel, held on by a single nut - I get a bit anal when it comes to torquing wheel nuts and other key bits. And 150bhp ain't much for a modern bike.

I've now got 5 torque wrenches (is there such a group as 'torque wrench anonymous'?). Not quite sure why 'click' is such a lovely noise. Probably cos it's pretty much the last noise you get when you've stripped something and rebuilt it I guess.

I once discovered the hard way that the supplied brace for changing a wheel wasn't able to undo the wheel nuts. They were just too tight. Fortunately I was at home and could find something to provide some extra leverage, otherwise I would not have been able to change the wheel myself.

After all this talk about torque when you have torqued the nuts up and you have put the wheel trims back on then what, is that it till the next wheel/tyre change if not how often do you take the wheel trims of and torque again, if any wheel has been of after about 300 miles it certainly needs checking again, like others on here I work on feel I also have wheel nut markers for a visual check.

Off interest, today under the Operator Licensing rules HGV, a driver before he drives off he must do a daily walk check which includes a visual check of the wheel nuts and sign his daily check list that he has done so; this must be done again if he changes to another vehicle during the day.

On torque wrenches they are a must when working on engines particularly on stretch bolts, but on other things I like to go on feel that is why I am not a great lover of power tools for tightening things up there is no feel to them.
