Top take away.

The only time we have ever stopped to help someone and then gave a lift to was a very prominant cyclist on the Col d`Aubisque.

He ( won`t say his name because he asked us not to ) had taken a tumble on a tight corner between Restaurant Les Crêtes Blanches and Station Gourette, he wasn`t injured apart from a little bit of road rash but his front wheel was well fooooooked and his mobile had got damaged as well.

Got him and his bike onboard and took them to Eaux-Bonnes where he knew a hotel owner.

Payment was a very personal tour of a Tour de France camp a few years later where he also introduced us to all the other riders

Some really great pubs I have found whilst travelling.

The first time I went to Rothiemurchus I spent most evenings in the Cairngorm Hotel bar in Aviemore. I returned a year later and when I walked in the Barman just looked at me and said "the usual Rob?". My favourite one though is the Applecross Inn in Winter when it's not so busy and I can drink with the locals who I have got to know over the years.
