Toilet Liners!

Ok, I may have dreamt this, but i'm sure I've seen somewhere you can buy lily pad type liners for the loo?! :anyone:

Anyone heard of these - I know it's not a great topic but I think (if they exist) are a good idea as everything would flush away all at once if you know what I mean:giggle:

Having brought my children up in real nappies I have no problem cleaning the bowl. Would a sheet of toilet tissue not do the same?

Hmmmmmm real Nappies its what Mondays and washing lines were invented for! Damn site cheaper and land-fill friendlier than chuck aways. My neighbour has an extra wheelie bin specifically for nappies!!?

No because it would disintegrate, but a nappy liner (we used them with terry nappies when camping) is woven & stronger. However, I would have concerns over using stuff like that as it would take a long time to breakdown in our septic tank. But I presume they are designed to break down naturally & be safe in sewage systems.

Where wet toilet paper has stuck to the sides in the past, I just use a cup of water (toothbrush mug) from the tap to swill it away with the valve open. That also works for solids marking the sides & we have a normal loo brush in a half pop bottle in the cupboard with the spare loo rolls & disinfectant etc for stubborn marks.

TBH, I suspect that a nappy liner will jam just as effectively in the valve as any toilet paper does! :mad2:

ok then...will forget that idea! :hammer::lol-053::idea:

actually they dont break down . best not use in a septic system . in a sewage works they get filtered out . you may be amazed how many skips a week full of materials like this get moved out of the works . the worse was them loo brush things a few years ago when they started selling them it almost doubled the skips . aqu duck i think they were called .
this is also part of the reason in many countries they collect toilet paper in containers after its been used and burn it . not putting it down the loo.
you may find it interesting to phone your local water company and try and get on a visit to a sewage works . possibly a fresh water works these are harder . but you would learn alot that could save water rates increasing regularly .
worth a try.

I was not suggesting the loo paper be used as a "target" more used just to wipe the bowl clean.

i always use a sheet of paper as a target in a wc...it stops the splash of cold water when the bomb lands.

Carry a box of tissues for the toilet. Put one in first.

They are also handy if you have a cold.

If you've got time to waste (ha ha) click on the link - unbelievable what people buy or what they try to sell us!:mad1:

What a load of Crxp................and they are environmentally friendly............Don't think so.:mad2:

Whynot line the toilet with a bin liner, bit of tissue in bottom for liquid, do business throw all items in bag ,tie up, no mess ,no quick fill of the toilet! Dump in nearest waste bin ( enclosed).

dont even need a toilet .... ive used a builders bucket and a plastic bag on odd occasions before now...

if your doing any renovations . beware of plastic bags in the foundations of walls or under patio slabs etc.

Blimey you guys have kept me well & truely entertained over your "passion" for all things toilet related :lol-053::lol-053::lol-053:

At present we do line the loo with toilet roll & use more if necessary to wipe the bowel clean...my idea was only it may be more hygienic and maybe cost effective to use one of those liners - now I feel I'm gonna be shot down again as we buy the special loo roll for chemical loos and you are all going to tell me you use newspaper :lol-053: :lol-053: :lol-053:

Possibly recycled newspaper it just says " mix paper from responsible sources " on the Sainsbury's basics pack

it also states " everyday design, everyday use " so no good for the irregular and constipated

We shop most days so use the supermarket loos and try to maintain a fluids only policey. Failing that a bit of loo roll around the aiming point seems to do the trick.

I didn't know people put their toilet paper in their chemical toilets. We've never done that and have a special bin at the side to put the used paper in. We are a family of nurses etc, so wiping a toilet if needed, with disinfectant spray and toilet paper is no problem for us. We caravanned for years and I think it was my inlaws who told us they never put toilet paper in their caravan toilet. I suppose I always thought that meant you weren't supposed to.
