Hi all, Tricky toilet question. Have come to empty the toilet and it is stuck it will not come out. The toilet is shut from the inside and it is not overfilled, having lifted the little catch and trying to pull the cassette out it is stuck and will not come out...

Had that happen once.
Even if it looks closed it only takes it to be not clicked back fully for the cassette to remain locked. Open the slider and then shut it again.
The other possibility is that the release sprung handle hasn't been squeezed enough to overcome the lock that holds the cassette in place.
Try giving the cassette a jiggle once the above has been checked.

Thank you for your reply, I have opened and closed the toilet flap a dozen times and have release the latch this releases and bottom of the cassette but the top is still currently stuck ?

Get your hand into the toilet pan and feel around for any toilet paper stuck around the rim of the cassette opening. The slider may appear fully closed looking down at it but could be slightly open. Also, try spraying WD40 around the slider, open and close it a few times and spray again.
I had to use a bit of force to finally get the cassette out and there didn't appear to be any obvious reason for it sticking but I gave it a thorough clean and overhauled anyway.
Good luck.

P.S. you may want to wear gloves!!!

So, the problem could be insufficient movement in the cassette? Try sticking a pencil into it and jiggling it around, see if the tape runs freely afterwards ... Or just switch to CDs ... :ROFLMAO:

Was that when the s**t hit the van Sam?
Subject to my failing memory, there was a match between Celtic and one of the Dundee teams during Neil Lennon's time as Celtic Manager. During the game, a Dundee supporter assaulted Mr Lennon and the picture of the incident was reported in the following day's papers under the headline, 'When the Fan hit the £$%^!' :ROFLMAO:

Ok, to be sensible, the likely problem is that the rachet system is out of alignment. Under the toilet pan is a cogged rachet that turns the button on the cassette to open/shut the flap. If this isn't at 180° when viewed from outside then the cassette will not release. You need a torch to see this as it is right at the back. If this is the case, then you need a long piece of rod to gentle hammer it into position. Once the cassette is released you'll need to reset the ratchet into the correct position.

Just to state the bleedin' obvious, but if you are new to the scene, don't forget you also have to lift the assembly over the small lip before it will slide out - my thetford anyway. Not that i ever have to mt it, welll once a year maybe, because we "converted" the bowl to a dry bag system. Saves all the mt ing hassle, just need good strong perfumed doggy bag position in a suitable pot for nr 2's, a 1 litre yoggi pot in our case, knot it, bin it or seal it in the pot, easy. We like yoggi !
A ceiling extractor fan is a must for a short period of course. Nr 1's? Use your imagination, and a peewee for those that need one.
Come on now if you've ever picked up after a dog or changed an infant's nappy.....

Any luck with the cassette?

sometimes you have to be a bit forceful with the slide lever, it's a crap system anyway.
I think, Kev, that it is a system for crap [and other outpourings], rather than a crap system, although the design could, perhaps be improved ... :ROFLMAO:
