Hi all,

Going back a while I first found this site when trying to find an answer to where I could empty my motorhome toilet at home.
This was a constant issue for me as I use my motorhome for weekends away cycling and rarely stay on campsites with facilities.

The problem was I have no man hole on my property and the house toilet is upstairs. So to avoid carrying the waste tank through the house I would travel a few miles to a relatives just to use their manhole. Not an ideal reason to visit.
In the end I designed a fitting to attach to the toilet waste soil vent pipe, giving an accessible location outside the house.

After plenty of interest this fitting is now available at Loo Station - Home

I have to thank Philip Tomlinson at admin for allowing me to share my product with you guys and hope it will help anybody with the same issue I had.

It would also make an easily accessible location for a toilet emptying POI at any property.

We are lucky as we have a man hole cover on our own property, we just lift it and do the dump, but your product is much better than carrying the cassette into the house toilet, and most probably spilling some very nasty smelly sh*t.
I think you offer a good product, which I would use , had I not got a man hole

Much appreciated thanks

Did I read that correctly. 45 quid for a piece of plastic to avoid carrying the cassette into the house?

It's a fair opinion, but it's not cheap to have a drain fitting produced at the correct standards. And I may be the fool but I've just paid the same amount for two bits of plastic just to park my motorhome on so it sits level. :rolleyes2:

I bet you're popular with the neighbours Graham.:lol-053:

pretty neat idea mate, good bit of thinking !
having seen it i can see other ways of doing it but not such an easy fit .

We have an old portaloo plumbed in, handy for emptying the cassette and for when you want to use the loo without having to go inside the house.

doh never thought of lifting man hole cover....alaways a new trick, cheers.

I just lift the cover and pour it down, it also keeps me up to date with the state of the plumbing outside. You could use a standard rodding point on the downpie if you wanted, they are cheaper than the station point mentioned.

Can't see a problem Steve, we lift the cover, dump, and wash out with a hose. No smells and no mess!

We also have a convenient manhole cover and do exactly the same Graham and it's not a problem at all,I was just trying to be funny and failing miserably, sorry.:o

Any problems with splash back due to airlock or do you keep the flap shut to regulate it

Like the look of that but unfortunately my stench pipe is approx 150 years old and cast iron, looks like I will have to carry on emptying it down the loo.

Sharp starrett cutter (Hole saw) and some cutting oil with a slow drill ....jobs a good 'un

If your cassette leaks, replace the seals. Easy and cheap.

If your cassette doesn't leak, carry it to the toilet, empty it carefully and flush. Job done.

If you find that it tends to splash as you empty, angle the pipe so that the waste spirals round the bowl as it goes in: that way it won't splash.

There is nothing to stop you practicisng with clean water till you get the knack of it.

I have found that if you flush the toilet and empty the cassette into the turbulent water, there are virtually no splashes.

IMHO it looks quite an innovative idea but as I live in a block of flats it's not practical for me ... I'd also be a bit concerned about it overflowing during use.

Personally, I got the idea of a flexible pipe which could join the cassette to the drainage system and manual operation of the pressure relief valve to help with the bowl movements ... pun intended.

What we all need

Is a good old fashioned outside toilet !

We have an easily accessible downstairs indoor toilet which "does the job"...Pun intended !

I've got this vision now of someone practicing emptying the cassette saying to themselves "Oh sh*t try again".

I would think that in the installation instructions you should make sure no one flushes the toilet whilst you are drilling the soil pipe or you could be deep in doodoo.
