Blimey! Who eats bees? There are 2 'b's in jobbies I'll have you know .
Sometimes some sweetcorn too !
We did try bio/standard washing tablets and in cold weather, they may appear to work. But we found when it gets hot, we had to dose the cassette every day. For the very minimal saving, it is not worth it. We just use green liquid from Lidl or Aldi that is made for the job, which washing tablets are not.
They do, but you have to wait for them to advertise it at the beginning of the season. It works well too and a lot cheaper than proprietary brands.Lidl and Aldi sell the proper green and blue stuff? We don't have an Aldi but we do have a Lidl in Richmond and Barnard Castle.

Don't assume that Aldi and Lidl.products are the same.Thinking on trying a dirrerant cleaner/smelly in the cassette ,we use Aldi tablets

Tried ur method but emptying heavy sludge and rinsing same a bind. So now nothing at all goes into our thetford.Seems like a good thread to join! We don't use any product in the cassette. We have a SOG which helps take the smell away. If, occasionally we end up close to another van on an aire, I will put some liquid in. I am currently carrying a container I bought in Action, a chain of shops which sells all manner of things in France. I think I paid €4 for 2 litres. I can't find it on their website now so may not still be available. If you live in or visit France Action shops are well worth a visit but can be annoying when items you've bought before don't reappear. I find them to be an excellent source of mobile phone charging cables.
Back to cassette usage! We only use the cassette for number 2's and OH's number 1's. I always pee in a bottle as this saves the cassette filing up too quickly. it's easy to empty the bottle daily at the cassette emptying place or down a toilet. Also we don't put any toilet paper or wipes in the cassette. We use bio-degradable nappy bags and put them into the normal rubbish. You can get the nappy disposal bags in supermarkets. I think the last ones I bought in Asda were about £1 for 300.
Back in the day when we used or thetford the way it was designed we found that in hot climates Elsan was the only one we could rely on, nowadays nothing at all goes in the thetford but it's a handy place to sit.....I use Elson blue in the toilet and dishwasher tabs in the dishwasher , but sometimes get a bit confused ,

Sog unit no chemicals, the cassette must have the proper outlet screwed into it instead of the vent plug, or it will still smell. Need a strong stomach when emptying after more than a day though.Thinking on trying a dirrerant cleaner/smelly in the cassette ,we use Aldi tablets
