Toads and the French

Weren't they always?
Don't comply with rules regarding reversing and braking for a start.

some have always been ok as they dont use a sliding hitch . its really the ones that use a sliding hitch dont cover the reversing and braking .
electric operated brakes can be ok .
with all the hassle though it really cant be worth the bother .
i have a frame and a harvey frost towboy here wouldnt want to be towing a small car behind a m,home or rv . used them as recovery work . good tools but better left at home i think.

Towing ?!

Personally,
I chose a motorhome to avoid having to tow (eg a caravan) so although I understand why some people want a car .. Not me.
All the hassle and expense as well.
Surely either a small scooter on a rear rack or bikes ( Electric folding...both whatever ).
Scooter will need tax insurance etc (or maybe electric ?)
OR hire locally

I posted this as I've read before that some people have driven thru France only to be stopped in Spain and made to uncouple before continuing. Perhaps the same will start happening in France.

Got to admit, that if I wanted a car with me, I would go with the car/caravan setup. But I like the convenience of my motorhome, and its small enough to use for a lot of car type duties, but still big enough to be comfortable.

My son as just been on a safety course and the area he is stationed is Valencia Spain and said that anyone that is seen towing a motor with all four wheels on the road will get a fine unless they have been instructed to do so by a Guardia Civil officer. but he did say that he has only ever done one in 4 years so its up to those who take a chance that break the law.

If I wanted a car along, I would tow it with a van. What is the safety issue with these A frames? I've never used one. I always hire a proper car transporter trailer when needed.

I use my campervan with a driveaway awning then I can leave stuff in the awning while I am gone, not really to do with wildcamping as you can only do this if your on a campsite.
