To France of not to France ... by Eurotunnel ?

P&O told me that they would charge from the card used to pay for the booking.
John

I have just looked at a return from Calais £196,now if i had missed my slot that would be a lot to pay for a return,so hope dfds come onto the tesco offer soon

How can they penalise you,do you mean in future bookings i cannot find anything about it on the website

This from their website Eurotunnel Ticket Terms and Conditions

Failure to complete both the outward and return journeys in respect of a return booking will invalidate your booking and in the event that you complete only one journey in respect of a return booking, you will be liable to pay the difference between the price that you paid for your return booking and the single fare applicable at the time that your journey was made. Eurotunnel reserves the right to obtain from you payment in full for all sums so arising. All travel must be completed within 1 calendar year of the date of original purchase.

Thanks for that, could have been expensive mistake

I believe the chargeback arrangement would only be applied if you had deliberately abused the cheap return offers. If you were on a booked return journey and merely missed your slot then I doubt you would have a problem, apart from perhaps an additional charge made if the fare for that time of day differed from the original.

and mine so easy and quick

Horses for courses, for some people the tunnel works well, for others the Ferries are their best option, personally I can not understand the people that go from UK direct to Spain, but if it works for them thats fine.

We use both, depending on when and where we are going, but when using the tunnel we always use Tesco vouchers.

It is the Manchester Caravan Show this weekend and so I am sure there will be a DFDS discount code for a few weeks.

Anyone who uses Camping cheques can book their ferry through them at a discount.

Both the big clubs can get a discount on channel crossings for members and

Newhaven to Dieppe over 60s get a 20% discount on phone bookings.

Only problem with Tesco vouchers is you have to shop at tescos and i refuse to do that as I hate tescos and the damage they do to our country

Just done a check on ferry pricing for our trip in June - ferry £108 Chunnel - £202

Why would I need WiFi on a half hour tunnel crossing?? 4 hour's drive in UK to get to tunnel, then stretch out on my own bed in my own motorhome for half an hour does me, and then 4 hour's drive the other side if required.

I use the half hour to fit or remove my headlight adaptors and change the clocks and watches. I have a coffee from a vacuum insulated cafetiere (made beforehand) and we're there!

No need to shop at Tesco to accumulate Clubcard points if you don't want. Just use a clubcard credit card to make your purchases at shops of your choice. It costs nothing if you clear your bill each month.

Yep Tunnel is more expensive normally, however if you do like Tesco's and you shop there and you have the vouchers then my return journey cost £4.00, and that is the most I have spent on the crossings for the past 5 years.
