To change or not to change

Quick thought if space is not an issue;

My 4x4 was 10k, obviously it is basic but potentially you could have a very comfortable moho and a basic but 4x4 depending on the requirements of that trip. Unlikely to suit you but just an idea

A good starting place to get a grips of what 4x4 MH's are available is at mobile.de
Don't select make/model, just tick the 4x4 option and you'll see loads, select a weight range if you want to reduce results.
Any budget from few thousand euros up to a million. :unsure:

I've always had a soft spot for the Daily. That one Tookey has posted is a beauty (should be green though).

There are some lovely expedition Dailys out there but many are way out of my budget.

And, at long last available as panel van again.

Don't forget a 4x4 is only part of the answer, without the correct tyres you might not be a lot better off. When it snows or we get icy roads I call it 'Disco weather' as we end up with so many of them in the ditches. I regularly drive down a hill with a S bend and off camber, I can almost guarantee a 4x4 will be in the ditch on the second part of bend, and can put money on them having summer tyres on.

Also a lot of the trendy 4x4's are driven by people who think, just because they can get going, they can stop too. Doesn't work like that.

I've always figured 4x4s just got you a little further along the road before you end up in a ditch (or worse) ;)

One idiot in a 4x4 went flying past, barging through deep floodwater in the middle of a local town in an attempt to get past all the other vehicles that were making their way slowly and carefully through the water.

Lo and behold an unseen, submerged drain cover that had been forced up by the flood water made contact with the underside of his vehicle and brought it to a grinding halt.

There he was, stranded in at least 2 feet of water while we all carried on slowly past. 😜 🙄
Nobody who witnessed the incident bothered to stop and assist - I guess he got very wet feet that day! :ROFLMAO: :cool:

As usual great pics and advice. I did think of buying a 4x4 van then getting it converted to our spec but im to stupid/unskilled to do it and dont know who could do it for me. Any Ideas?? Need to sell the Adria first. Seen one less gear than ours one year newer only 10,000 less miles £48,000. I was parked next to a big Iveco in Aviemore two years ago in deep snow and that convinced me.
