Tightly wound EHU cables

Or maybe he knows exactly what he is doing and is only pulling a small amount to charge batteries. Bought reel extensions usually have two values on coiled and uncoiled. Why does everybody seem to assume others don't know what they are doing. But it is worth a mention to them.
He had an electric heater on last night drawing 1.8kw (Truma gas electric) he told me he has been doing this for years, never heard of this causing a fire, but thanked me for pointing it out and would look into it. When I showed him photos online he reckoned this was only going to happen in a house and not a Moho.

Here's a thought ....
He could take the reel of cable, put it into a large bucket of water and use the heat generated by the coiled cable to warm up the water to then use for washing up.
What could possibly go wrong with that idea? :)

1.8 amp @ 230v = under 500 watt

I think the gas was doing the heating.

You did as much as you could and more than others if he has been doing it for years. You won't be the only one that has seen it.
