Three feel at home 3gb data sim valid 3 months

Hi

If you are planning to use it abroad then check because if on PAYG, when I enquired, you needed to activate it 1 month before you leave UK.

If UK use only then check out link The Christmas SIM from EE | EE PAYG Sim | EE.

After having spent a fair time looking around I have just signed up for £18pm for 15gb pm that includes Feel At Home.

Just wondering if this is a good deal? It's offered for sale at £20.49, but when you click on add to basket it is only £16. So you get 3 Gb of data that will last for 3 months once activated.

Hi, I bought a 3 dongle for £20 with a 1 month 1 gb pay as you go deal. When looking for their 3 month 3 gb top up I could not find it on their website so rather than mess around I bought another simcard like the one offered at £20.49 ish. I recently used this for 15 days in France without any problems and the expiry date was set to 16th January.
I logged on to the 3 website last week and "topped up"" with £20 and to be sure that I was ok for another 3 months (and as I would hope to be in Spain before the present one expired and to be sure of it being ok to use the new one, I rang them.
I was told that £20 only got me 2 month/2 Gb and when I complained and said that I was very disappointed I was transferred to a supervisor.
He said that the 3 month/3 Gb was only an introductory offer and that after that it was £10/ 1 Gb per month. I said that this was never explained and he gave me the extra 1 month/ 1 Gb as a complimentary offer, however he also explained that the "Feel at home" was restricted to 2 months a year and that the way round that was to buy another sim card(which I don't think he should have told me).
I hope that this makes sense and that it is of help.
I also think that the £16 sim is a very good deal.

I've been using the 3Gb sim for 2 years now, buying a new sim every time for my Nexus 7. I've continued to use my ordinary O2 phone when in France and Spain but I hardly make any calls anyway so the roaming rates haven't been an issue.

Today I took delivery of a new iPad which I'm using to write this message. Sadly it doesn't take the Three sim which is full size (I cut it down to micro with a Stanley knife so it fit the Nexus) so I'll buy a nano sim with a year long contract for 1Gb at £7.50 per month.

It's worked perfectly for me both in the UK and in France, Spain and Portugal with no increase of cost when abroad. Coverage has been acceptable everywhere with just the occasional blank spot.

I've been advised that customer service can be a bit aggressive if you try and come out of a contract but that's not a problem for me as I'd just cancel the payment and there's no number for me to keep.

I wonder if THREE will work in Goa. I have a 3 month sim card which I am going to take with me to see if it works. Any tips before I put the sim in to use. Thanks.

I have used several of these and thought they were good at £20 so £16 is even better. But buy a new sim each time, you can always buy a spare one before you go.
I have used it in France a lot.It uses more data in Germany, check on the website for which countries have the feel at home rate and which are data roaming,so long as you know you can limit your usage in non feel at home places.

The twelve month one is better value but only available in standard size and not micro.

Just bought one , at £16 it is worth having as back up , thanks to OP for info

I have a 3 dongle and usually top up on line when I need it but this is cheaper

3 sim

We use "a feel at home 3 sim", it was up to mid August £17 pounds but then they increased it to £20. The "all you can eat data" is fantastic. We have a house in sticks in Spain and it works well. But you can only use it for 60 days in any one year as it is meant for holidays. What I would like to know is 3 say I cannot put the sim card in a tablet, but how will they know? I want to use a tablet as the screen is a lot bigger. What we do now to get past the 60 day rule is just get anew sim online as they are free. Anyone got any ideas about the tablet?
Thanks

PJ

If you put the sim in a mifi then the tablet should work with it as far as I know, perhaps someone will confirm it

Tether your phone and connect through that with your tablet.

Thank you for your information. However, we are told that 3 does not allow tethering on Payg, only if you are on contract. As for "mifi" sorry we are technically challenged, what is it?

I used 3 payg to tether whilst in France this year, although it did use up my allowance pretty quickly, it was pretty damn useful. That said, however, I do use a mobile telephone with dual sim cards.

thanks to you and the OP I received my 12gb sim today, I buy one every year so one with a discount is welcome

Well Tezza, If it's good enough for you it's good enough for me. I've just ordered mine now.

We've been using '3' 15Gb a month for about 3 years now. It costs us £10.88 a month, but not sure how we arrived at that figure - I probably threatened to leave them, that usually does the trick. Most of the time, under the 'Feel at Home' banner it works fine in most parts of France, just about to give it a try in Norway.
