It will in Europe but only for 2 months, we had a 12 month contract with 3 but they turned off the signal after 2 months. When we called up to ask why they said it's only for people going away on holiday for a few weeks. We said that we weren't told that when we bought it. They still wanted to charge us £268 to cancel. They did cancel it without charge in the end. I know we could have just kept it going without using it for less but why would we want to keep it?

We use them for Europe but always register them before we leave the uk, no need for add ons or anything else

You must have had a contact, but the ones mentioned above are pre loaded and last for 12 months from the day you start them or until the 12gb runs out, it is possible to add more credit to them but for some strange reason costs more than the original card, hence the reason people just buy a new card

I have this data sim in my dual sim 'phone. Although it works well with apps such as Facebook, BBC news and the BBC weather app, I don't seem to be able to browse the internet. Why is that?

If you've bought the 3 prepaid data sim(called Trio Sim on packaging)there is no need to register in UK.
Put mine in MiFi on reaching France and it worked from the off.Been faultless in Portugal ever since.
If you're going to be away sometime or more than one trip over 60 days, buy two_On day 59 change sims over. Then you've got another 60 days of use overseas.
When you get back to UK briefly use both sims there, and the 60 day clock for overseas should start again.Until 12 months expires or all data allowance is used.
I am crap with tech and this sim with mifi and tablet has been invaluable.Bit slow in some areas for streaming, but for browsing, email and apps.it's been brilliant.
Cheers, from Korky.(There's only me and an owl here.)

We too have used the pre-paid 3 sim from my memory....ours worked well beyond 2 months actually but as said taking two is a good idea. As also said they are good for email, browsing...seem to work all over Europe..... but slow for streaming. Those spending a lot of time in Portugal and who want fast streaming can get a NOS 4G unlimited data sim which works out at €1 a day.....really good ! A few on here have enjoyed having one. Wish Spain would do similar !! Maja

if you buy through Topcashback it's an even better deal. Have been away over 60 days and still using mine, the guy on the phone at 3 said they would cut me off after 2gb not 30 days. I don't use it constantly, wifi in cafes when I can.

Yes the data works in a phone. I don't know what would happen if you tried to make a call. There is a phone number associated with each sim.

Thank you ... I wouldn't be calling out, but would be receiving sms's.
