This is more like France

slowly ,slowly is the best way to do it . its not a race .takes us six months sometimes to land at santander across to valencia then follow the coast round to santander again. might not get to portugal sometimes . just stay in spain . mind usually nip across to maroc as well . but no racing no motorways ,tolls avoid dual carriageways .stay on narrow roads is loads of fun.
you can do liverpool cherbourg to gibralter and back one and a half times aweek ,but thats called work. dont have to do it in your own time.

Not if you're in rain and obviously not happy where you are. You have options and one of those is that you can head southwards and find some sunshine if that's what you want.

yes all depends on weather .weused to stop near loudeac .think i might turn right then do mur de bretagne to ouarec then down to pontivey.
never know you might even get an invite to ssshhh you know who.
loads to see and take in .
i have almost done every road in brittany . even my lads used to get over their on mopeds it was the family weekend place to go. fill up with fuel get some fags . we used to get crossings from plymouth for 50 quid return . the boys it was less than 20quid including their mopeds .they used to catch the train from roscoff to ?then ride back to roscoff .

its actually unfair on france to go there for the first time in bad weather. when we went there and the weather turned bad,a look at the readers digest atlas showed portugal having the same climate as north morocco ,a day and a half later we were in albufeira, which actually was a fishing village then, next day we were parked on the beach at evaristo when the rain started! it rained horizontally from the sea for 6 weeks every day,but when there was a dry spell it was gorgeous.so the moral is erm,let me see, erm, sod the weather i'm too thick to realise i've got nothing to be happy about, lets have fun !

This is the second time I've been to France.

It rained last time as well:( I'm still having brake problems, but not bad enough to stop me driving with enough room in front of me to stop, but it's Bastille Day tomorrow if I remember correctly, so most French mechanics won't be working. I might head South and sort the brake problem there. I've just been talking to my daughter on MSN and apparently it's raining more or less non-stop in London and the rest of the UK, so it makes sense to stay here. I may need to eat out a lot at the end of our trip as I've just switched to the second gas bottle and don't really want to get a French bottle as this should last me almost to the end of the next fortnight if the last fortnight is anything to go on.

come on use the d roads . we used institute geographique national maps. 1..25000 .1cm =250m so we could use lots of small roads .
cant beat good maps .did at one time nearly buy a house in plougonver . unfortunately my son was ill in uk so we never did get there. glad i never signed anything or left a deposit. decided later its too cold and wet in winter .should be red hot there now . but thats life.
last time i went through was on my drifter on the way to some friends in the charante. must do it again one day. with the truck its cheaper now to ferry to spain .but i do miss france really.

lots of street fairs tomorrow then get some bargains they are like huge carboot stalls.

Thanks David

Hopefully the dongle connection will last the rest of this evening, but not sure if it will still be there tomorrow, so I'll ring you when we are leaving.

Cheers, John

Typical.

The sun has now come out and we have a blues sky as we're off to bed.

We found that when we arrived somewhere the sun went away and then when we were leaving the next day it came out! lol.
I hope things pick up for you and you can start to enjoy your break.
:have fun:
