Bongo
Hi, we had a Bongo, they are GREAT as a day van... also worked VERY well for a relatives wedding car (8 seats), however as a camper they are VERY narrow, most people sleep 1 up & 1 down once you've put a conversion down the side.
They also return a rather poor 25mpg, and that was on a 2wd! Our 2.8jdi give 24 - 29mpg!!!!!!!! And people in the club said that was quite good!?!
The Bongofurry club is great, with most spares easily obtained and some good meets.
I was working at Derby VOSA SVA lane when mine went through, they sail thro' with the radios removed (knobs protrude too far!) O/S/R fog lamp and an MPH sticker overlay on the speedo all easily obtainable.
I would seriously suggest going for a 'proper' m/h or at least a wider panel van conversion - Sorry admin Phil but unless you're both midgets, don't want a loo, don't want a water capacity of more than a gallon and only want to carry one 807 Camping Gaz bottle they're not very good!
