I am thinking of buying a Ford Freeda (Mazda Bongo) and I was wondering how many of our members have them?

The bongo has become very popular over the past few years as a day van / camper and I have been tempted for quite a while.

I will most likely import one after buying it from an auction in Japan then arrange the SVA and registration myself. My brother has done this a few times with Sports cars.

I like the Ford Freeda as it looks less dated and has colour coded bumpers and a different front grill.

I have looked around the internet and on bongo fury but I am after real life experience of owning one.

Thanks

As all you guys know I lost my MH through arson. That's history.I have seen one I really like in Germany. Here is the specifications on it. Euromobil 595LSS Merc Benz 2.8 TDI, 1997. Automatic gearbox, 89000Km= 58000miles. 90KW=122 Horse power, 6.6m long=22 feet long, Power steering, 5m awning, double flooring, ABS, Reversing camera in colour with monitor, Electric step, alarm, Fully automated Sat; antenne with receiver, Solar panels 2x120watt, Speed control, Nav:system. Airconditioning in cab and living area, Seperate shower, Air absobers/stabilisers and tow bar with rack for carring a motor bike. The asking price in £'s equivalent is £17885. I haven't haggled on the price YET. What do you guys think of it and the price. Like to hear from you folks.

Havn't the fainest idea Graham. All I really want to know if it is value for money. even considering it is a 1997, but with pretty low mileage. Condition is superb. Going over to Germany on the 5th of October to have a look at it.

Ha ha ha ....Sorry...
An A Class is like the Hymers you see with the integral cab.
A C Class is a coachbuilt that is built on the original van chassis & cab.

Good of you

Hi, Sorry I do not know the model, but Euromobile are a well built make.
They are supposed to have excellent insulation!
I would have a look around before committing yourself as winter approaching and some good deals back at home including private deals:)
When we recently purchased our Tramp, we nearly went for a Euromobile!:D

Hi Jeff, From your description, I reckon it wood be a C class, as it has an alcove above the cab for sleeping, need a ladder to climb up. I usually use the alcove for storage for surplus sheets, pillows and blankets/quilts as we sleep in the dining/lounge area by dropping the table and spreading the cushions. I have about 6 MH's to look at, some private and some from dealers. I know dealers cost more, but you can get a minimum garuantee of 3 months, where as privately, you buy what you see and you have no come back, especially if it is written into your bill of sale/contract. Wait and see how it goes when I get to Germany. Will let you guys know how I got on.
