In domestic plumbing, the worry is that if the mains pressure drops, water could be drawn backwards into the taps from places it was stored, such as cisterns or boilers. Not a problem in a motorhome.

Lowdhams, Notts had 3 failed attempts to re seat/seal a rooflight. Each time
it leaked. Each involving 4-5 days and many miles driven. I did it the 4th time, last year. Doesn’t leak. So much for the ‘professionals’. Any job that takes care, detail and attention.. do it yourself unless you can be sure someone else will do a good job. As is often the case this job wasn’t as difficult as I‘d first thought it would be.
