Thanks. Yes I think Stowford have one. £155 or £65 for the top bit.

Get one off these Barry if struggling to repair. Get a storage bag with BS on it aka Barry's Sh#t shovel :giggle:

Get a fresh up kit. I dare say you could have it delivered to the site you are on.
Then soak the old one in a detergent water mix for a few days. Light a cigar, then give it a good clean Remove the circular panel to do this and either renew it or get the necessary parts for repair.
This is what I did with mine, although I had a different problem.
End result is that you have 2 cassettes doubling your ability to stay wild. We all know the cassette capacity is the weakness in duration of off grid.

An update! (Finally)

I ordered a replacement mechanism when I got home (The circular bit on the top).

To get the old one off rather than using a plank of wood I went round with Silicone spray which acts in minutes and it came off eventually just using the top closing blade as a lever.

Gave the cassette rim a further spray of Silicone and gave it a good clean round and the new mechanism went in relatively easily (some reported that it was equally as difficult to fit the new part but I suspect they were copies). Fitted it into the loo and all is well!

That Silicone spray is really good stuff. No planks of wood required to remove the old broken one and it acts in minutes.

Cheers for all the advice.

Well done. Isn't it satisfying to repair something rather than bin it and lash out for a new one

Yes it is. I was gobsmacked when I rode up to our local dealer up at Catterick the other day and they were charging £180 for the full cassette. I thought they were dear in Devon at £155. I have a spare blade cover now as well and a white bit for the underneath that nobody knows what its for. :D

Those cassettes in Devon were obviously empty. ;)
