Thetford C2 cassette seal sticking

Hi all. OK, I decided to treat the cassette to a new set of seals but now the blade won't move! It is really tight. The only way it will open/close is if I loosen the screws holding the cover over the seal, obviously not how it's supposed to be. Anyone know if the blade can be adjusted? Absolutely baffled by this. The new seal is identical to the old one??

Have you lubricated the seal? I apply a light coating of Vaseline.

Thetford recommend using silicone spray.
They produce a product themselves.

They only go in one way, i change mine when i get a little dribble
